Muito se fala se o estilo EBM está ou morto. A música industrial está a seguir por caminhos cada vez mais harsh, por um lado, ou techno, por outro, e facilmente se consegue identificar os sons do início e os sons do final desta década. Mas acheios a estas "modas" estão ainda alguns bons projectos que vão buscar inspiração e sonoridade aos melhores anos do EBM. Projectos como Orange Factor, Menticide, Spetsnaz ou Jaeger 90 são bons exemplos disso. Como apreciador especial do género EBM genuíno, o chamado oldschool, já queria fazer um set deste género há muito tempo, mas com bandas "de agora".
