Alexander Robotnick, o italiano conhecido como o avô (!) do modern electro dance e 80s Italo Disco está de volta! Claro, como não estivessemos a reviver agora os anos 80.

"My la(te)st Album" é o nome do novo trabalho de Maurizio Dami, aka Alexander Robotnick, e tem data prevista de lançamento a 7 de Maio. Para este trabalho, Robotnick seleccionou 13 faixas das 40 que tem vindo a trabalhar desde há 3 anos, utilizando basicamente o mesmo equipamento que utilizava no início dos anos 80!

The new work from the (God)father of modern Electro Dance and 80's Italo Disco ! "My La(te)st Album" melts different styles and sounds into a fluid whole. A trip into the most expressive electronic music, from the darker atmospheres of "Disco Sick", through to the funny acid of "I’m Getting Lost In My Brain", the vintage sound of "Jette Le Masque", to light Techno of "Acid Magma" and the Electro-Disco of "Addio Addio". All these tracks were recorded using the original 80's equipment with the only obvious addition of a PC. All music was composed and produced on analogic synths and drum-machines : Roland SH101 and TB303, Korg Mono-Poly, TR808 and TR909 and Prophet 5.

Alexander Robotnick got his first success about 24 years ago with the release of "Ce n’est qu’un début" (1983), the mini-lp featuring 80s dancefloor mega-hits such as "Problèmes d’amour" and "Dance Boy Dance". Since then, Robotnick has been venturing along different musical routes ranging from soundtracks for theatre, films, TV and fashion shows to world music. In 2002 he also published "Oh No...Robotnick!" on which he re-created the original electro sound that made him one of the Godfathers of dance music. Several re-releases of his early hits followed, including "Krypta 82" on the Crème Organisation label.

WASTE DISPOSAL MACHINE
Várias são as referências descortináveis na sonoridade praticada pelos Waste Disposal Machine, sendo as mais óbvias e notórias as que passam pelo rock, pelo electro mais escuro / obscuro, por algum industrial e por algumas formas derivadas do metal.
Actualmente reduzidos a um quarteto [João Gonçalves, Miguel Silva, Hugo Santos, e Victor Silva], os Waste Disposal Machine encontram-se em fase de conclusão do seu álbum de estreia – “Interference” – e têm em circulação mais ou menos restrita um Promo-CD que avança dois dos temas que surgirão nessa aguardada estreia.
Ainda antes da edição do seu álbum de estreia, os Waste Disposal Machine integrarão duas colectâneas de projectos underground nacionais – uma que reúne diversos nomes ligados à electrónica com origem na cidade de Thomar e outra da Thisco Records que inclui vários projectos musicais em ascensão no panorama nacional.
Anteriormente, os Waste Disposal Machine lançaram dois CD-r [“First Offensive” e “i.D. Code”] que lhes valeram algum reconhecimento a nível de um certo underground nacional e internacional e que os afirmaram como uma das poucas bandas dentro seu género a trabalhar a partir de Portugal.
Mais por contingências do mercado musical português do que por opção deliberada, os Waste Disposal Machine têm-se concentrado essencialmente no trabalho de composição e de estúdio, apostando, quando a oportunidade se propicia, em actuações cirurgicamente preparadas e cuidadosamente agendadas, como foi o caso da sua participação na última edição do HallowFest [Hard Club, Vila Nova de Gaia] em que figuraram num cartaz onde se incluíam alguns dos nomes mais relevantes do panorama electro-industrial internacional [Das Ich, Frozen Plasma, Kiew, Soman, Reaper, Culture Kültur].

TATSUMAKI
TatsuMaki é a designação que Marco Pereira utiliza no seu projecto a solo. Em formato one man show, TatsuMaki recorre aos mais variados instrumentos [sintetizadores, vocoder, caixas de ritmos e guitarra] para criar os seus temas e ambientes. Marco Pereira, ou seja TatsuMaki, é músico desde meados dos anos 80, tendo passado por projectos como Wodka Technicolor, Headonics, Silicone Vein e Wave Simulator e integrando actualmente as formações dos VortexSoundTech e The Neon Road.
Marco Pereira movimenta-se ainda na área da sonoplastia, vindo a desenvolver trabalho nesta área desde os anos 90 [destaque para a sonoplastia e bandas sonoras, assinadas com os VortexSoundTech, das peças “Gretchen” do Teatro Carlos Alberto no Porto e “Sorrisos para Bergman” do Teatro Nacional D. Maria II em Lisboa].
Marco Pereira é também colaborador do realizador Edgar Pêra e com os VortexSoundTech, Pereira assinou as bandas sonoras dos filmes “CINEKOMIX! [New Yorker, Censorship! and Human-kind seen trough the point of view of Komixz Masters Art (Maus) Spiegelman and Will (The Spirit) Eisner]”, “STADIUM” e “STADIUM [Phantas-Mix]”.
Além de músico, sonoplasta e compositor de bandas sonoras para teatro, cinema e vídeo, TatsuMaki é também DJ desde finais dos anos 80.

URB
Urb é o projecto pessoal de Miguel Urbano, músico e produtor que escolheu há vários anos a cidade de Thomar como base para o seu trabalho.
Com Urb, Miguel Urbano procura, através de ferramentas essencialmente electrónicas, alicerçar uma sonoridade que se pretende cada vez mais pessoal e afastada de modas ou tendências.
Influências de um passado / presente rock, sensibilidade pop, minimalismos tipicamente germânicos, arritmias IDM e apurado sentido técnico / estético combinam-se neste projecto, que, não deixando de estar atento aos novos desenvolvimentos e caminhos da música electrónica, tenta cada vez mais vincar uma personalidade forte.
EP#1 é o resultado mais recente deste trabalho continuado, em que todas as pistas deixadas na primeira maqueta sofrem a inevitável evolução da maturidade temporal, revelando uma nova fase de Urb.
Vários live acts dados de norte a sul do país ajudaram a calibrar estes novos temas, reforçando um pulsar tipicamente rock que as actuações ao vivo privilegiam.

DREAM METAPHOR
"Um dia eu sonhei... E dos sonhos fez-se melodia, imagens, luz, movimento e palavras."
É curto o tempo de vida de Dream Metaphor, mas muitas foram já as mudanças. De um sonho de um ser só que teimava em não se mostrar, surgiu uma nova interpretação... Desta nova interpretação, descobriu-se a infinita possibilidade dos sonhos serem reinterpretados por outros... Mas só o som, as melodias, os ritmos e as palavras não bastavam... Era necessário algo mais! Foi então que foi dado corpo ao sonho...
Dream Metaphor deixou assim de ser apenas um projecto musical, na tentativa de criar metáforas mais próximas do nosso vasto mundo onírico, aproximando-se cada vez mais do conceito "colectivo artístico", onde a combinação de diversas formas interpretativas, a conjugação de diferentes meios de expressão artística se transformam num todo: Uma instalação multimédia interpretada no aqui e agora, na união do sonho e do real. Só assim, neste contexto multifacetado, conseguiremos recriar as metáforas dos sonhos, num aqui e agora que é nosso e vosso.

Novo álbum para Funker Vogt

Sai já no próximo dia 27 de Abril o novo álbum de Funker Vogt. O último registo da banda datava de à cerca de um ano, Navigator, e tinha deixado um sabor a desilusão. Espera-se que neste novo álbum, Aviator, as faixas sejam mais diversificadas, pois agressividade não lhes falta.

"Androids & Electric Sheep"

"Androids & Electric Sheep" é a designação de um evento que reunirá no ESPAÇO da Censura Prévia, em Braga, quatro projectos de diferentes áreas musicais que têm em comum a utilização de elementos e instrumentos electrónicos. Este evento terá lugar no próximo dia 21 de Abril, a partir das 23h00.

Waste Disposal Machine [de Tomar], TatsuMaki [de Braga], Urb [de Tomar] e Dream Metaphor [do Porto] são os quatro projectos que actuarão ao vivo. Para além destes quatro concertos, haverá ainda dj sets a cargo dos convidados António Jorge [Porto], Luiz Soncini [Gaia] e Wellen [Braga] :).

Esta será uma noite dominada por sonoridades derivadas ou próximas do electro-industrial, nas suas mais variadas vertentes: do metal-rock-industrial dos Waste Disposal Machine ao electro-ambient de Dream Metaphor, passando pelo electro-idm de Urb e pelo drum'n'bass industrial de TatsuMaki.

A união descomplexada de esforços destes quatro projectos, conceptual e musicalmente distintos entre si [mais os DJs convidados], proporcionará uma noite musicalmente variada, desafiando rótulos e barreiras musicais e procurando pontos de encontro entre diferentes visões do fenómeno musical verdadeiramente alternativo.
